Alexis Farina

Paraguayan midfielder Alexis Fariña joined Minnesota United in August 2025 on a one-year loan from Cerro Porteño (Paraguay), with an option to purchase his contract. He occupies an international roster spot, pending his medical, P-1 Visa, and International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

Fariña arrives after rising through the Paraguayan youth system. Before his loan move, he made 48 first-team appearances for Cerro Porteño across all competitions, registering three goals and seven assists during his time there. He also starred in the club’s youth ranks, contributing two assists in the 2023 U20 Copa Libertadores as Cerro Porteño’s youth side earned third place.

Though Fariña has not yet made his MLS first-team debut, he has played for MNUFC2 in MLS NEXT Pro, gaining valuable minutes. In the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season, he made three starts, logged 161 minutes, and contributed one goal and one assist across those appearances. Fariña also made three appearances, all starts, in the MLS NEXT Pro playoff run, adding a goal to his account.

INTERNATIONAL: Born in Paraguay, Fariña has represented his nation at the U16 level in a pair of friendlies. He played over 130 minutes across the two matches.
