Alejandro Bran

Minnesota United acquired central midfielder Alejandro Bran via a one-year loan, with an option to buy, from CS Herediano of the Costa Rican Primera Division in January 2024. Bran played in 18 matches across both the Primera Division and Concacaf Central American Cup competitions during the 2023/24 campaign with Herediano. In over 1,300 minutes played for Herediano, Bran scored three goals and provided two assists.

The Costa Rican international made his Minnesota United debut during the 2024 season opener against Austin FC, scoring his first MNUFC and MLS goal in the 92nd minute. In the 2024 home opener, Bran started his first match for Minnesota against the Columbus Crew, playing a total of 71 minutes. In early September, Minnesota United purchased Alejandro’s contract from CS Herediano before loaning him out to Burton Albion FC of the EFL League One in England through the summer of 2025. During his time with Minnesota, Bran made 11 game appearances and six starts for the Loons.

INTERNATIONAL: Bran represents Costa Rica and has earned ten call-ups and has been capped 13 times. He earned a spot on Costa Rica’s final roster for the 2024 Copa América roster, where he made two substitute appearances in the Group Stage fixtures against Brazil and Paraguay.

He previously made appearances in international friendlies against Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in September of 2023, along with a substitute appearance against El Salvador in 2021.
