
Troy Putt
Biography
Forward Troy Putt joined MNUFC2 on a two-year contract in 2025 after playing with Birkenhead United in both New Zealand’s Northern League and National League. With MNUFC2 in 2025, he made 18 game appearances (11 starts), providing three assists across all competitions for the Twos.
Prior to his time in Minnesota, the 19-year-old forward made 29 game appearances for Birkenhead’s senior team from 2023-2024, scoring one goal and providing three assists in 2024. He notably made an appearance during the 2024 National League Final, where Birkenhead were the eventual runners-up.
While competing with Birkenhead, Putt also played high school soccer in Auckland at Westlake Boys High School, where he scored 33 goals across 55 game appearances from 2022-2024 and helped lead his team to a National Secondary School championship title in 2023. During the 2024 campaign, the forward tallied 25 goals and earned Golden Boot and MVP honors at WBHS. Additionally, in 2024, Putt was selected for New Zealand’s ISF Secondary Schools Football World Cup squad that placed 13th out of 36 nations represented in the tournament.
Putt recently earned his first international call-up with the New Zealand U20 squad for friendlies against Chile’s U20 team in June. He also earned a roster spot on the Junior All White’s team for the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile, where he made two Group Stage starts and helped his team win their second game against Egypt, 2-1.
