
Babacar Niang
Biography
Babacar Niang in January 2025 signed a one-year contract with MNUFC2, with a club option for 2026. In his first season with the Twos, he made 20 game appearances (14 starts) and played nearly 1,300 minutes across both regular-season and playoffs competition. Niang scored his first MLS NEXT Pro and MNUFC2 goal at The Town FC on July 22.
In January 2026, MNUFC2 loaned the midfielder to Louisville City FC of the USL Championship for the entire 2026 season.
The midfielder joined the Twos from Wake Forest University, where he played from 2021-2024, making 44 appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists across nearly 2,100 minutes played for the Demon Deacons. During the 2022 season, the Wake Forest midfielder earned All-ACC Third Team honors. He was selected by Minnesota United as the 78th-overall pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.
