After three games in three different Minnesotan cities, your Twos are heading back on the road for an away tilt against Timbers2. It’s a return to the road warrior mentality, and it’s coming against a team that’s scored multiple goals in each of their last three matches.

Head Coach Fanendo Adi’s MNUFC2 side comes into their tenth game of the season with a total of 14 points, courtesy of a 4-4-1 record (with a shootout win). They’ve managed to keep themselves in the middle of the Western Conference pack despite a -2 goal difference, battling out five games decided by just a single goal. It’s been a season spent walking the line for the Twos, and this past weekend’s result was no different.

After beating North Texas 1-0 at Allianz Field in their first home game of the season, the Twos hosted Dallas’ MLSNP side at the National Sports Center Stadium on Saturday, falling by a score of 2-0. Now, the Loons utilized a different lineup in the second match, without the services of first-teamer Dominik Fitz, who scored the game-winner the first time out. Separated by just two weeks and a few names on the teamsheet, this set of results is a perfect example of just how unpredictable games can be in developmental spaces, where rosters change week to week.

Timbers2 have spent 2026 balancing in their own way, ironically in a tie for the most draws in league play this season (4). They’ve only won a single post-draw shootout to earn an extra point, keeping them level with the Loons on 14 points apiece. With just one loss in the calendar year, this Portland side is right on the edge of a great season, and they’ll be hoping to tip the balance against a Loons side that’s fresh off of being shutout against North Texas.

While neither of these sides boast impressive goal differences or goals scored tallies, they’ve both got proven difference makers ready to step up. Portland defender Alex Bamford has been leading his team by example this year, playing every available minute of their eight league games thus far. Ahead of him, forward Noah Santos leads Timbers2 in scoring, having notched three goals and one assist in just under 700 minutes of game time. For your Loons, Marcus Caldeira’s five goals continue to lead the team, and he’s been scoring in bunches, notching a brace and a hattrick. The rotation of first teamers Kenyel Michel and Dominik Fitz has given the Twos a little extra boost throughout the season, as have the constant presence of midfield pairing Sam Vigilante and Luciano Pechota.

Be sure to have two TV’s ready this Wednesday so you can tune into the first team and the Twos, with MNUFC2 vs. Timbers2 scheduled to kick off at 7:00 p.m. CT on OneFootball and MLSNEXTPro.com, just 30 minutes before Cameron Knowles and MNUFC take on the Rapids at 7:30.
