Surly's United Crushers Pale Ale

Surly

Today, Minnesota United and Surly Brewing announced the debut of Surly’s new beer, United Crushers Pale Ale, at the official MNUFC pre-match party at Surly’s Destination Brewery before the home opener on Sunday, March 12.

“When you get new neighbors, you want to do something nice for them,” said Omar Ansari, owner and founder of Surly Brewing. “Fruit baskets are overrated and as much as we’d love to help them with that sofa sleeper, our chiropractor said to ease off the heavy lifting. So, when we found out Minnesota United were moving in up the street, we decided to do what we do best: Brew a beer for them.”

If you're ever in Prospect Park, it’s impossible to miss the United Crushers building. Enterprising graffiti artists put their indelible stamp on the ADM-Delmar #4 elevator, and now it's as much a part of the local landscape as Dave Dahl’s radar or Witch's Tower. Paying homage to the landmark, United Crushers Pale Ale is a traditional American pale, dry-hopped with Mandarina, Bavaria, Eureka and Chinook hops, with tropical, grapefruit and piney notes.

“Surly is a fantastic local brewery with a long track record of creativity and collaboration when it comes to beer making,” said MNUFC President Nick Rogers. “We’re proud that they’re honoring our arrival in MLS with Surly United Crushers and thrilled to be offering it at home matches throughout the season.”

United Crushers will debut at the official MNUFC pre-match party at the Destination Brewery on Sunday, March 12 at 11 a.m. It will also be available on match days at TCF Bank Stadium. The celebration will feature a free pour of beer for anyone wearing soccer gear, live music in the beer garden featuring 4onthefloor, new merchandise and a spirited march to the stadium. If you’re not biking/walking/taking the train, the brewery also has free parking.

Tickets are still available for Minnesota United’s home opener on March 12 at TCF Bank Stadium against fellow expansion side Atlanta United. Be there for the beginning as MNUFC embarks on its inaugural MLS season. Fans who want to catch every home match can join the Itasca Society. Over 10,000 season tickets have already been sold, rapidly approaching the inaugural season limit of 11,842 members in this exclusive club — one for every lake in Minnesota. A portion of all proceeds from these season tickets are donated to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ Loon Monitoring program. Both season tickets and tickets for the home opener are available now at MNUFC.COM or by calling 763.4SOCCER.
