To help achieve our #GreenerGoals, the One Planet kits are made entirely from recycled plastics. This four-step process begins with interception, as plastic waste is collected from beaches and coastal communities before it pollutes our oceans. Once intercepted, the plastic is shredded thoroughly before it’s melted down. Finally, the melted plastic is mixed and threaded into the material that adidas uses to make their performance products.
In every thread, the message is clear: End Plastic Waste. This year’s kit design depicts topographical maps of the ocean floor, alongside scenes of crashing waves and the natural beauty of a pollution-free ocean. At MNUFC, we know that programs like this are just one step in the right direction. That’s why Allianz Field has made the switch to fully compostable cups and straws, among other sustainability initiatives.
Following our match against the Sounders on Earth Day, a limited amount of game-worn One Planet jerseys will be auctioned online.
