Minnesota United welcomes Costa Rica champions Deportivo Saprissa to TCF Bank Stadium for an international friendly match on Wednesday. Los Morados recently won their 34th league title by winning the 2018 Clausura season of the Liga FPD. It will be a familiar opponent for Loons’ captain Francisco Calvo who played for Saprissa before joining MNUFC. Minnesota will get a chance to test itself against CONCACAF Champions League level talent before a three-match home stand where it hopes to climb back to playoff position. The match will allow Head Coach Adrian Heath to experiment with the squad and tactics as he prepares for the final half of the 2018 MLS season.
