Minnesota United will try to get a third-consecutive win for the first time in MLS when the Loons head to New York to face the Red Bulls on Saturday. Minnesota’s depth will be tested this week, as Francisco Calvo, Michael Boxall and Rasmus Schuller will be away on international duty. The Red Bulls, meanwhile, are coming off a loss to Real Salt Lake and are still recovering from a massive CONCACAF Champions League win over Club Tijuana last Wednesday. Now, New York will have a full week to recover before hosting MNUFC, as it tries to rebound in league play. A win over the weekend could put the Loons where they’ve never been before in MLS: atop of the Western Conference table.
