MNUFC Development Academy Tryouts

Academy Tryout 2

MNUFC today announced the tryout dates for its Development Academy at the Minnesota United Training Ground in Blaine. The first round of open tryouts will be held on Wednesday, May 31 and Thursday, June 1 with a rain date of Friday, June 2. They will take place on fields C1 and C2 (south of the stadium) from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and interested participants should fill out a prospect questionnaire here. Players should arrive no later than 6 p.m. for check-in.

These tryouts will be for the U13 Development Academy (players born in 2005 and 2006) and U14 Development Academy (players born in 2004 and 2005). Players already registered with a Development Academy club are not eligible to participate until the second round of tryouts in late June.

Functioning as a unique, top-tier program within the state, and also within the designated MLS youth home territory, the Minnesota United FC Academy will be a destination for select, high-potential talent that is referred from the region’s youth clubs.

"MLS is setting the standard within the Development Academy across the country," said Tim Carter, Minnesota United FC Academy Director.  "Our Academy's direct connection to professional soccer provides an environment for player development that is unmatched in our region and state."

The MNUFC Academy’s mission is to provide a superior soccer education within a professional club environment, where young, talented athletes can realize their potential by embracing the philosophy, values and culture of Minnesota United. In the process, they will grow into quality individuals, respected teammates and outstanding players with the potential to become professional athletes.

The second round of tryouts for callbacks, MYSA Olympic Development Program players and players from other Development Academies will take place on June 27 and June 28. The third round for callbacks and invited players will take place on June 29 and June 30.

Minnesota United faces the Colorado Rapids on Sunday, April 23 at TCF Bank Stadium, presented by the Minnesota Corn Growers’ Association. Kickoff is at 5:00 p.m. and single match tickets are still available. It’s not too late to join the Itasca Society. Fewer than 600 spots remain in this exclusive club as we rapidly approach the inaugural season limit of 11,842 members — one for every lake in Minnesota. A portion of all proceeds from these season tickets are donated to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ Loon Monitoring program. Both season and single match tickets are available now at MNUFC.COM or by calling 763.4SOCCER.
