Inaugural Broadcast Team Announced

As the 2017 season rapidly approaches, Minnesota United is happy to announce its broadcast team for the inaugural season. Play-by-play commentator Callum Williams and color commentator Kyndra de St. Aubin will call the games from the booth, while a familiar face to Minnesota fans in Jamie Watson will be the club’s sideline reporter.

“It’s really important for the club as we make our journey into Major League Soccer to have an incredibly talented broadcast team that can help tell our story,” MNUFC president Nick Rogers said. “This will be one of the best broadcast teams in MLS and I think it speaks to what we are doing here in this market – we are building something special and it’s clear that this group wanted to be a part of the growth of soccer in Minnesota.”


Williams is a seasoned soccer commentator who has covered leagues ranging from Major League Soccer and the English Premier League to the German Bundesliga and other European competitions. He has worked in England covering MLS, EPL, and a wide range of leagues for a number of worldwide for broadcasters such as Sky Sports, talkSPORT, and the BBC.


During the past two years, Williams called the MLS Cup, World Cup Qualifiers, CONCACAF Champions League, the Gold Cup and the FA Cup for a global audience. Williams is recognized as a global voice of MLS who has earned wide acclaim due to his experience in both the United States and Europe.


A former University of Minnesota soccer star, lettering twice as a Golden Gopher, de St. Aubin has been part of Fox Soccer’s coverage of the U.S. women’s national team since 2011 as a color commentator and sideline reporter. She was one of five broadcast teams selected for the 2015 Women's World Cup in Canada. She has also been in the booth for the network’s coverage of the Women’s Professional Soccer League, and continues to be the lead analyst for the National Women's Soccer League.


Covering MLS regular season and playoff games as well as the U.S. men’s national team during Copa America in 2016, de St. Aubin is one of the most experienced broadcasters in American soccer. Along with her professional soccer coverage, de St. Aubin has been analyst for women’s college soccer, basketball, and softball for both the PAC-12 and Big Ten Networks. During her career, she covered pro teams in Wisconsin and Arizona as a beat reporter, and was a host on ESPN’s SportsCenter.


Watson is a former professional soccer player with a 12-year career in MLS, NASL, and USL. He played four seasons with Minnesota starting in 2012 and returning once again from 2014 to 2016. Watson is involved with many Twin Cities charities, having worked with Make-A-Wish, Special Olympics, Easter Seals, and many more. He has been involved in broadcasting throughout his career, including covering high school soccer for BrightHouse Sports Network in Florida, featuring in many Minnesota United videos, and is a weekly guest on KFAN’s PowerTrip Morning Show.
