Shuttleworth was traded to MNUFC from New England Revolution on February 15, 2017. In 33 appearances (32 starts) for the Loons during the 2017 season, he managed 116 saves — second among MLS keepers on the year — five shutouts and two penalty stops.

The goalkeeper was an MLS Team of the Week member in Week 8 after making three saves en route to the Loons’ first shutout in MLS, a 1-0 result over Colorado Rapids. He earned another spot in Week 10 with a second clean sheet and third win of the campaign, notching seven saves in a 2-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City.

Shuttleworth spent eight seasons with the New England Revolution from 2009–2016, totaling 127 appearances, 124 starts, 34 shutouts, 344 saves and a 46-53-28 regular-season record. The Tonawanda, New York native anchored the Revolution during its run to the 2014 MLS Cup, tying the club record with 16 wins, and accumulated six postseason starts during the 2014 and 2015 campaigns.

He featured for three years at the University of Buffalo, starting 33 matches while maintaining a record of 20-7-7 and a goals-against average of 0.80. In high school, he set a school record with 48 career shutouts at Nichols School in Buffalo, New York, in addition to earning all-state recognition.
