His efforts put Indiana in the 2017 NCAA National Championship final, where it fell 1-0 to Stanford in double overtime.

Before college, Toye was named first-team All-America by USA Today and New Jersey Gatorade Player of the Year, in addition to being named to the U.S. under-19 national team and training with the U20s in London. He played his high school soccer at Seton Hall Prep in West Orange, New Jersey, leading the side to its first North Jersey, Non-Public A title since 2009.
