Nick Dang

Biography

Nick Dang joined MNUFC2 on a one-year contract, with a club option for 2027, from the University of Virginia. At Virginia, he made 33 game appearances (all starts) for the Cavaliers from 2024-25, notching six goals and providing two assists during his two seasons in Charlottesville. Notably, Dang’s six goals in 2024 were the most goals scored by a defender across all of NCAA Division I. Prior to his time with UVA, the defender played collegiately at Lipscomb University from 2021-23. In total throughout his career at the college level, Dang made almost 70 game appearances across over 6,000 minutes played on the pitch.

The defender was the 49th-overall pick in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft, selected by Real Salt Lake.

Dang earned a number of honors and recognitions throughout his time in college, including a Second Team All-ACC Selection, United Soccer Coaches First-Team All-South Region and ACC All-Tournament Team Selections in 2024. He was also named 2022 ASUN Freshman of the Year while at Lipscomb. Prior to his collegiate career, Dang played for his high school team at Ravenwood High School, also competing with Ravenwood’s basketball and cross country teams.
