Saddle up, cowboys. Your Twos are once again hosting opponents from the Lone Star State, this time going up against Austin FC II in what promises to be an action-packed Sunday matinee.

This Austin side is on fire. They’ve racked up eight wins on the season with only one loss to their name, but guess who handed them that lone loss? Yep. The Twos last played Austin in their season opener on the road way back in March and emerged victorious with four goals to Austin’s two, the only team in the league to have beaten El Tree Jr. on the season.

Jorge Alastuey leads the scoring for Austin with six goals. The club has a GD of +15, second only to Houston Dynamo II and Crown Legacy, who are tied at 21. Most recently, Austin shut out Sporting Kansas City II and LAFC2, right after destroying second-in-the-West St. Louis CITY2 4-1. Simply put, this team is a buzzsaw.

Minnesota is bringing some momentum of their own into this match, however, having claimed seven of a possible nine points on their current homestand, including victories over Colorado and Kansas City along with an impressive draw against league-leading Houston. Their recent stellar performance against Sporting included a brace from Marcus Caldeira, who is now up to seven goals this season, plus goals from Troy Putt and Anderson Farris.

This weekend is a chance for Minnesota to double down as the only club able to pull one over on Austin, and it’s shaping up to be quite the clash. Get your tickets to see the Twos in action at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14. If you can’t make it to the National Sports Center, tune in live via MLSNEXTPro.com or OneFootball.
