The MLS NEXT Pro season may be winding down, but MNUFC’s Homegrown attacker Darius Randell is definitely heating up. His scintillating form in front of goal has earned him his second-consecutive Player of the Matchweek for matchweek 28, powering his side to three wins on the bounce to help them close in on an MLSNP postseason berth.
Randell’s six goals in his last three games have come in a very satisfying build, with the young forward scoring one against Houston, two against Colorado, and rounding it out with three against Vancouver last time out. His flurry of finishing has brought him up to a season tally of 12 goals in 21 games, with three assists to boot in what has proven to be a breakout season. That puts him ahead of Marcus Caldeira for the team lead, firmly establishing himself as the go-to guy in this Twos attacking corps.
Just two games remain in MNUFC2’s regular season: one home and one away. Randell will look to keep his impressive form rolling beyond those games, though, as he and the Twos are on the verge of clinching a season extension via a second-consecutive playoff appearance.
