Logan Dorsey scored his third consecutive goal in as many games to help MNUFC2 defeat The Town FC 1-0 on Sunday night. The Twos defense held firm in the final moments of the second half to move above the playoffs line in the Western Conference. Next, MNUFC2 will host Austin FC II on Friday, Sept. 5 to continue the push to make the playoffs.
30’ - The Town FC recorded a dangerous scoring attempt on a free kick delivered by Edwyn Mendoza that connected with Wilson Eisner’s head, but missed right of the near-side post and out.
36’ - Minnesota midfielder Curt Calov struck a free kick directly at The Town’s goalkeeper, Francesco Montali, looking for a deflection, but MNUFC2 were unsuccessful with the attempt, and the ball was corralled at the goal line.
37’ - Midfielder Cruz Medina gave The Town another scoring chance as he headed a ball sent in by Missael Rodriguez, which was then blocked and sent out by Minnesota United First-Team defender Kieran Chandler.
42’ - Calov came out of the match following an apparent lower-body injury, being replaced by forward Muba Nour.
45’+3’ - Minnesota midfielder Muba Nour connected a pass to striker Logan Dorsey on a run at the top of the penalty area. The shot, aimed at the far side of the net, took a bounce and was saved by Montali.
55’ The Town’s Cruz Medina sent a ball to Missael Rodriguez, who took the ball from the left side of the box, cut towards the center, and powerfully struck the ball over the far right corner and out.

66’ - Twos goalkeeper Kayne Rizvanovich made his first save on a rush generated by The Town’s defenseman Keegan Walwyn-Bent, who left the ball for Missael Rodriguez, who struck the ball at Rizvanovich’s left foot. The ball was redirected to MNUFC Academy midfielder Justin Sosnouski, who cleared the ball out.
71’ - MNUFC2 created another scoring chance as Roman Torres delivered a ball to Dorsey on a run as Francesco Montali came off his line, challenged the pass, and ultimately made the save.
77' - The Town FC’s Edwyn Mendoza struck a free kick at the top of the box that deflected off of the Loons’ 6-player wall, where the rebounded ball was struck high and wide over Rizvanovich’s net and out.
78’ - Missael Rodriguez created a dangerous scoring chance for The Town FC as he quickly drove into the box and took a shot with his left foot that beat Rizvanovich but deflected off the left post back into play, and was headed out past the goal line, resulting in a goal kick.
82’ - First-Team midfielder Owen Gene beat a Town FC defender and found himself on a run with Logan Dorsey. Gene brought the ball into the box and sent a short pass to Dorsey, who struck and skied the ball over the net.
83’ - Adimabua broke through the Twos’ defensive line and sprinted into the box, where Rizvanovich came out and challenged the run, forcing the ball to be shot at near the goal line, where it connected with a sitting Alpha Kabia foot, who deflected the ball back to Rizvanovich, who corralled the ball.
90’ + 4’ - Wilson Eisner found himself alone against Rizvanovich, who took a step left, lost his footing, and was forced onto his foot, shooting the ball high and out over the net.
