MNUFC2 battled through a back-and-forth contest against North Texas SC, generating numerous scoring chances but ultimately falling short in a 2-1 defeat at Allianz Field. Despite goals from Alexis Fariña and continued pressure late in the match, the Twos couldn’t find an equalizer against the visitors. MNUFC2 now turns its attention to their next matchup, a home contest against the Colorado Rapids 2 on Saturday, September 27, at 3:30 p.m. CT.

8’ - MNUFC2 created their first dangerous opportunity of the match when Roman Torres recovered the ball in the attacking third following a defensive mistake. Torres carried it into the penalty area and fired a shot, but North Texas SC goalkeeper JT Harms was able to make the save.

11’ - A few minutes later, the same opportunity arose for the Twos when Logan Dorsey recovered the ball near the top of the 18-yard box and carried it into the penalty area. Dorsey then took the shot, but once again Harms was able to easily make the save.

29’ - Dorsey made another crucial recovery near the top of the penalty box and found himself one-on-one with goalkeeper Harms, but his shot went just wide of the left post.

31’ - Forward Loïc Mesanvi created another dangerous opportunity off a recovery, finding himself one-on-one with Harms, but his shot went just wide of the left post.

42’ (0-1) - North Texas opened the scoring following a rebound chance. Samuel Sarver gained possession outside the penalty box and carried the ball inside before taking a shot, which was denied by goalkeeper Kayne Rizvanovich. Sarver collected the rebound and attempted a pass to Caleb Swann near the six-yard line, but it was intercepted. Swann regained the ball and fired a shot over Rizvanovich and into the net.

45’ + 3’ - Off a counterattack, Alexis Fariña cleared the ball into the attacking third, where Dorsey gained possession and carried it into the penalty area. He struck a shot that Harms managed to get a hand on, sending it wide of the right post for a Twos corner.

55’ (1-1) - The Twos equalized the scoring as Logan Dorsey drove up the center of the pitch from a lobbed pass from a defender. Dorsey ran into the penalty area and sent a pass to his right connecting with Alexis Farina, who struck the ball past JT Harris’ right side and into the net.

58’ - North Texas created another dangerous scoring opportunity as Jaidyn Contreras found Diego Garcia in the box, striking a ball toward the near side of Kayne Rizvanovich’s net, who kicked the ball out with his right foot, resulting in a North Texas corner kick.

60’ (1-2) - North Texas doubled the scoring after being awarded a corner kick. The corner was taken by Alejandro Urzua and played short to Jaidyn Contreras. Contreras then struck the shot from outside the 18-yard box, finding the back of the net.

65’ - The Twos created another dangerous opportunity when Fariña sent a long through ball for Mesanvi on the left flank. Mesanvi carried into the penalty area, took the shot but Gavin Gall made a crucial slide tackle inside the penalty box to send the ball out for a corner.

67’ - MNUFC2 continued to generate scoring chances as Mesanvi connected with Dorsey at the top of the box, who quickly one-touched the ball over to Keith Romanshyn Jr., who took a shot at the top of the box aimed at the right side of the net, but Harms was able to corral the ball and make the save.

88’ - North Texas continued to apply pressure, this time after Diego García sent a long pass down the left flank for Daniel Baran. Baran took a few touches before firing a shot that sailed just over the crossbar.

89’ - The Twos created another dangerous scoring chance as Mesanvi delivered a pass inside the box to Muba Nour, who chipped the ball over to Brady Schumacher, who then headed the ball from the center of the box into Harm’s hands for a save.

90’ + 5’ - Curt Calov, in the last effort, drove up the right side of the box and found Romanshyn Jr. at the top of the penalty area, who powerfully struck the ball towards the top, center part of the net, but Harms leaped up and punched the ball ou,t denying the Twos’ final chance to tie the match.
