MNUFC2 battled to a 1-1 draw on the road against St. Louis CITY2, with Logan Dorsey opening the scoring early before the hosts equalized through Cameron Cilley. The match went to penalties, where CITY2 prevailed 3-2 to claim the extra point. The Twos now return home to face North Texas SC on Sunday, September 21 at 3:00 p.m. CT at the National Sports Center in Blaine.

8’ (1-0) - MNUFC2 opened the scoring on their first attack through Logan Dorsey. Darius Randell received possession in the middle third on the left flank and played a quick pass down the line to Loïc Mesanvi. Mesanvi slipped a through ball to Kieran Chandler as he made a run, and Chandler then squared a pass near the penalty spot for Dorsey, who tapped the ball into the back of the net.

15’ - St. Louis CITY2 created their first dangerous opportunity through Wan Kuzain. The play began with Glove, who collected possession in the middle third and carried it toward the top of the 18-yard box. He then played Tyson Pearce down the right flank, and Pearce delivered a long switch into the penalty area that connected with Kuzain. Kuzain struck a shot on target, but goalkeeper Kai Zeruhn got a hand to it, and Babacar Niang cleared the danger.

15’ - Zeruhn came up with another crucial save to preserve the lead when Jaziel Orozco delivered a long switch from the left flank to the right side of the penalty area. Miguel Perez met it with a one-touch shot, but Zeruhn reacted quickly and collected the ball with ease.

24’ - After a defensive mistake from the Twos, Akil Watts gained possession near the top of the 18-yard box and fired a long shot that went just wide of the left post.

37’ - Perez stepped up to take a free kick near the top of the penalty area, but his effort curled just wide of the left post.

51’ - CITY2 was awarded a free kick on the edge of the penalty box, where Kuzain stepped up to take it. His delivery was sent into the penalty area but was headed clear by Kabia.

60’ - From the middle third, Mesanvi sent a long through ball to Dorsey, who broke into the penalty area. Dorsey found himself one-on-one with goalkeeper Christian Olivares and attempted a chip over the keeper, but his effort hit the side netting.

80’ (1-1) - CITY2 equalized when Perez delivered a corner near the penalty spot, where Cameron Cilley rose above the defense and headed the ball into the back of the net.

90’ + 3’ - Chandler recovered possession in the attacking third and quickly played a pass to Tim Dennis. Dennis carried the ball into the 18-yard box and fired a right-footed shot that sailed just over the crossbar.

90’ + 8’ - CITY2 continued to threaten, this time from a corner kick. Perez delivered the ball to the top of the six-yard box, where Emil Jääskeläinen rose to head it on target, but Zeruhn reacted well to make the save.
