The World Cup comes to an end this Sunday, but your soccer viewing doesn’t have to! After the grand finale of the world’s game, your intrepid Twos take to the pitch.

The boys made a statement over the weekend with a comeback win over league-leading Austin FC II, launching Minnesota up to fourth place in a very crowded Western Conference table. A brace from Momo Dieng and a goal from Luke Hille secured the win, and now the boys take this momentum down to Kansas City for their third consecutive road match of the month.

Both times Minnesota and Kansas City have met this year, the Twos have emerged victorious by a narrow one-goal margin. They’ll be looking to continue their series dominance, and they certainly have the personnel to do it. Marcus Caldeira is far and away the club’s leader in goals (10), and the young Loons boast 12 different goal-scorers across the season so far.

This weekend’s opponents, however, have struggled to find success of late. They fell in their last three fixtures (once to Minnesota), most recently losing 6-1 to San Jose on the road. Lee Tschantret’s side has won only a single match at home this year and has yet to record a clean sheet.

Kansas City’s scoring is led by a combination of Tega Ikoba and Kashan Hines, with five goals apiece. Close behind is midfielder Shane Donovan with four. Each of these attackers has scored at least once in the squad’s last three matches, with Ikoba logging a brace in Kansas City’s last game against Minnesota. The Twos’ defensive line, held down by Anderson Farris & Co., will have to keep on high alert against SKC’s motivated offense.

The Twos look to build another winning streak Sunday, July 19, at Victory Field. Tune in live via MLSNEXTPro.com or OneFootball at 7:00 p.m. CT.
