Minnesota United have announced plans to host two MLS NEXT Pro Tryout Combines in the coming months. These combines will be focused on recruiting talent for both the Academy and MNUFC2. Players ages 16+ are invited to register if they are looking to take their game to the next level.
The first of these combines will take place on December 15 and 16, with the second scheduled for January 4 through January 6. Participants will be evaluated through a mixture of small-sided drills and full-sided scrimmages. All sessions will take place at the National Sports Center Dome in Blaine.
The deadline to apply for the first combine is December 7 at midnight. There will be a $175 registration fee to be paid in full at the time of sign-up. The deadline to apply for the second combine is December 24 at midnight. For this longer combine, there will be a $205 registration fee.
Because spots are limited, inclusion in the combine will be based on the coach’s review of the playing resume provided by each player. Any registrants who are not selected will, of course, have their registration fee refunded.
In addition to the registration fee, players will be responsible for paying for their own airfare, lodging, transportation to the event, food, and other incurred travel costs. Players will be expected to come prepared for the tryout with their own shoes, socks, shorts, gloves, shins pads or other equipment related to their position.
Spots are going to fill up fast; interested players should register quickly if they want a chance to participate.
