MNUFC is offering players from outside the Twin Cities area a unique opportunity to train, play and develop with the MNUFC Academy. This program benefits both the MNUFC Academy and the players looking for a professional environment that may not exist in their home community. The residency program can change the course of young players' lives for the better and allow them to be part of Minnesota United's growing organization.
The club has partnered with the International School of Minnesota in Eden Prairie to provide an outstanding academic environment for players in the residency program. Minnesota has already received commitments from several out-of-market recruits and spots in the residency are highly competitive. Out-of-market players interested in trying out should sign up for player trials using the link below.
Host A Player
With MNUFC players coming from outside of the Twin Cities area, there is an opportunity for local families to host Academy athletes. Players need housing for the majority of the year, beginning in August and concluding in June. Host families are expected to provide:
- A private room – including a bed, clothes storage and access to laundry, bathroom, internet and television
- Nutrition – with three balanced meals that will empower a player to perform with consistent training sessions throughout the week
- Transportation – getting players to and from training
- Structure – players will be part of your family, and it's important that they are treated as such
If you are interested in becoming a host family, please apply online or contact Ryan Brooks, Academy General Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
After the application is complete, a phone interview will be scheduled, followed by an in-house visit and finally a background check for all those who are 18 and older and live in the house.
