Minnesota dropped points for the second straight week on Sunday, this time in front of a massive home crowd on a night of record cold for Major League Soccer. Here is what the gaffer, Vadim Demidov and Kevin Molino had to say following the match.

On the supporters and what they brought …
I think the only positive we can take from today is the people who braved the elements to come out. I thought their support was incredible. It's just a pity that we couldn't give them any type of performance that warranted the support that we got today. So: very disappointed and I apologize for that because they didn't deserve that. We've got a lot of hard work ahead of us.

On what's to blame for the defeat …
Poor defending. I thought there was a couple quality finishes in their goals today, but on the whole, I thought we were poor at the back. I said that last week, said it again this week. Obviously, we've got a lot of work to do there. Now, whether that's collectively or individually, whether that means we change one or two things or we change one or two individuals, that's what we'll have to look at for next week.

On halftime adjustments …
We gave ourselves a mountain to climb when we were 3-0 down after such a short period of time and then we get it to 3-1 and we have a couple of chances and we hit the crossbar and I thought that if we got the next goal, we might make something of it. And that was all we spoke about at halftime. "Can we go and get the next goal, keep the crowd engaged in the game?" But every time we got a little bit of momentum going, it seemed like they went down to their end and scored. Obviously, the more you chase it, the more you leave holes. As I said, there was some quality finishing but on the whole, I think a lot of it's to do with our bad defending.

On why the problems persist with the defense …
As I said, we'll have to have another look at it. It's difficult on the sideline when you're watching the game to see where you think all the issues are coming, but obviously, there were two or three that went through the middle of the centerbacks and we'll have to have a good hard look at it this week and see where that leaves us for next week.

On the weather …
It's the same for both teams. You can't use the excuse of the weather and the pitch. It wasn't ideal, obviously, but it was the same for both teams. I thought their counterattacking play was very, very good, something that we spoke about all week. They paid a lot of money for the guys who scored the goals and they showed the quality that they have today. Some really good movement, a lot of pace and some good finishing. But we did make it easy for them.

Goalscorer Kevin Molino

On locker room reaction …
It's tough. At the end of the day, you always want to win, to boost the confidence.

On playing in the snow …
Well, for me, it's the first time ever. I found it a little difficult, but after a little while, I came to terms with it. As I said before, it's difficult but it's part of the game. That's why the game is 90 percent mental. I think we have to continue to keep grinding.

MNUFC Captain Vadim Demidov

On the disappointment of the first two games …
We need to learn from these two games but we also need to forget these two games because we have to keep going. There's a lot left of the season. We have to look at this as a disappointment for ourselves, and then we have to get our head up and start working again from tomorrow.

On team chemistry …
I have a responsibility and I'm not happy with my two games so far. I'm disappointed in myself, but of course, team chemistry is something that comes with time as well and we're a new team, but there's no excuse for today because 6-1 at home is just not good enough. With a home crowd like this and they give us all their support and we show up and give them this, that's just not good enough. We have to keep working and developing and it has to happen fast.

More on chemistry …
It's difficult to say when we lose 6-1 because I don't want to make any excuses. It's just not good enough. We can do much better. Of course, we don't know each other that well, but it's no excuse. We've trained a lot of weeks together and we know each other well enough. You have to improve together. We need to show a better attitude than we did in the second half because we still had a chance at 3-1. I feel like we had some chances in the first half the last ten minutes. But again, we conceded some goals at some crucial times.

On moments to savor …
The crowd, the supporters were fantastic. They were with us all the time, the whole 90 minutes. And they were much greater than us today, I take my hat off to them. It was a fantastic crowd. We felt the support all the way to the end. This is all on us and we have to take it in and we really don't want to let them down the next game.
